Holiday food drive update

York County Shelter Food Pantry received a $1000 check and 605 pounds of food from First Congregational Church of Kennebunkport on December 14, the result of the church food drive held on Saturday.

First Church has long supported the YCS Food Pantry by collecting non-perishables in its entryway throughout the year.  The food collection process was interrupted entirely because of Covid 19.

To make up for lost time and donations, the church scheduled a food drive.  The church and surrounding communities were obviously ready to pitch in and help!  The drive succeeded beyond expectations collecting 605 lbs. of food and $1000.

This accomplishment can be attributed, in no small part, to the inspiration of the late Paul Gauthier, church member and longtime advocate for those in need.  It was a satisfying way to honor Paul, help our neighbors and work together as a church family at a time when many are feeling isolated.

First Church extends a heartfelt thanks to all who helped make this project a success.
